Dozens of workers and volunteers were up bright and early at Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa preparing 6,000 meals.

They’ll be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Tampa.

They’ve put on an extensive Thanksgiving dinner for those in need for years.

It takes a lot to get the hearty meals ready.

More than 1,500 pounds of turkey, 1,300 pounds of vegetables, 80 gallons of gravy and 1,000 pies will be served.
