ORIGINAL STORY:

Police in Tampa are asking for the public’s help to find a missing and endangered 23-year-old man with autism.

Jonathan Everett went missing from his home in the Sulphur Springs area Friday night. He is listed as endangered because police say he has the mental capacity of a 5-year-old.

Everett’s mother tells police she last saw her son in his room around 11 p.m. When she woke up Saturday morning around 5:15, he was not in his room and left the front door unlocked.

Everett was last seen wearing red pajama pants and an orange sleeveless shirt. They say he may have changed clothes since he was last seen.

Police say he tends to frequent Rowlett Park. His mother says he is afraid of water.

Anyone who sees Everett or has any information is asked to call (813) 231-6130.
