TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — MacDill and Sabal Park Pharmacy systems are experiencing issues Thursday, making them unable to process prescriptions.

MacDill Air Force Base said the outage was due to “nationwide unforeseen circumstances.”

“We are unable to process prescriptions through benefit plans (TRICARE) currently,” MacDill said in a statement. “However, we will process urgent medications offline on a case-by-case basis and reprocess once systems are restored.”

Patients are asked not to submit multiple messages through DosePharm or Patient Portal, as it will cause longer response times.

Those with non-urgent prescriptions are asked to wait until systems are restored.

Change Healthcare, which provides services nationwide, reported a cyber security issue on Thursday. It’s unclear if the Change Healthcare issue is related to the MacDill Pharmacy issue.

MacDill said it will provide updates and thanked patients for their patience.
