TAMPA (WFLA) – Police in Tampa launched a death investigation Thursday night after two fishermen found what appeared to be a human leg floating in water near the Port of Tampa.
A Tampa police spokesperson said officers were called to McKay Bay near the 22nd St. Causeway Bridge around 4:30 p.m. to investigate. The spokesperson later confirmed the leg found by the fishermen was “of human origin.”
A dive team was also called to the scene to look for anything else connected to the discovery.
