A Lithia man is facing 100 counts of possession of child pornography on Monday.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, members of the HCSO CID Internet Predator Unit, acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, served a residential search warrant at a home on Dunlinwood Lane on Nov. 15.

A computer was seized and a forensic examination was conducted.

Over 100 images of child pornography were located and some images depicted children as young as 5-years-old involved in sexual acts.

On Nov. 19, an arrest warrant was issued for Michael Furey for 100 counts of possession of child pornography.

Furey surrendered himself at the Hillsborough County Courthouse, where he was taken into custody without incident.

He was booked into the Orient Road Jail.
