When it comes to saving lives, no mission is to small for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, three Hillsborough sheriff’s deputies lifted a 100-pound crate to save a bunch of ducklings trapped in a sewer.

“Deputies Quezada, Montoute and Dewar didn’t let a 100lb grate get in the way of helping these little citizens. After being trapped in a sewer for a while, the little ducklings are now safe and sound!” the agency wrote on Facebook.

If you come across an animal in distress and are unsure of what to do, most law enforcement agencies advise calling 911 and leaving the hard work to the professionals to avoid a potentially hazardous situation.
