A 17-year-old Hillsborough County boy was arrested for threatening Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students via Snapchat on March 4.
According to the sheriff’s office, the 17-year-old old made a direct written threat to use a firearm in a violent manner against student at the school.
The boy made the threat with the intent to mislead the students to believe it was credible.
“I’ll have another person shoot up yo school,” the threat read.
The post was received by a freshman student at Stoneman Douglas, who forwarded the post to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office forwarded the case to the Hillsborough Sheriff’s Office.
The boy admitted to posting the threat on Snapchat and making additional threats to kill the victim via other Snapchat posts.
The boy said he made the threats out out of anger.
He was arrested without incident and booked into the Hillsborough County Juvenile Assessment Center.
