Hepatitis A identified in food service worker at Sandpiper Grille in Sun City Center

SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. (WFLA) – The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County has identified a case of hepatitis A in a food service worker at Sandpiper Grille in Sun City Center.

A vaccination is recommended for anyone who ate or drank at the restaurant between March 20 and March 24, as they may have been exposed to hepatitis A.

Those who have previously received the vaccine do not need to take additional action.

The restaurant is located at 1702 South Pebble Beach Boulevard.

DOH-Hillsborough is offering the vaccine weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm. at the Sulphur Springs Health Complex, located at 8605 Mitchell Avenue in Tampa. The vaccine is free for those who may have been exposed.

A special clinic will take place Saturday at the Joyce Ely Health Center, located at 205 14th Avenue southwest in Ruskin, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
