Crews say they have recovered the body of a man who was missing after a boating accident on the Alafia River.
FWC crews responded to the area near the Williams Park Boat Ramp in the Riverview area early Monday morning.
A spokesman says a boat crashed into part of a bridge, ejecting three people who were on board.
Authorities say a 12-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man were rescued following the incident. The 12-year-old was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The man was okay.
The FWC immediately launched a search for a third person from the boat: 41-year-old Brent Davis. An agency spokesperson says his body was found later Monday morning.
At this point, investigators are looking into what happened leading up to the crash.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and US Coast Guard assisted FWC in the search.
