The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred near Dale Mabry Highway and Busch Boulevard on Friday.
When they arrived, deputies found paramedics attempting to render aid to an unresponsive man. The man later died of his injuries at the scene.
On Saturday, the sheriff’s office identified him as 34-year-old Michael Montalbano. Investigators say he suffered from upper body trauma.
Detectives determined the initial incident occurred at an apartment complex located at 8505 Lincoln Cove Drive.
Witnesses at the apartment complex reported seeing a possible four-door Dodge Journey SUV fleeing the scene.
Detectives put out an alert for the vehicle on Friday but they have since canceled it.
No arrests have been made.
