The recount results from Florida’s midterm election are due at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The results will determine the outcome of the Senate, gubernatorial and agriculture commissioner races, which were too close to call on election night.

In Hillsborough County, workers were expected to count into the night Wednesday. An 8 On Your Side crew is at the Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections Office in Tampa, but hasn’t noticed an active recount underway.

On Wednesday, there were some hiccups at the Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections Office.  A power outage and an emergency court hearing provided some extra drama.

Gov. Rick Scott’s Senate campaign went to court asking to get into the Hillsborough County recount room. Supervisor Craig Latimer said the room is simply too small and they couldn’t accommodate. But, a judge disagreed, ordering that designated campaign representatives be allowed in the room.

Some Florida counties have warned that they may not be able to make Thursday’s 3 p.m. recount deadline.

The machine recount may bring a conclusion to the governor’s race. Republican Ron DeSantis leads Democrat Andrew Gillum by 0.41 percentage points in unofficial results, but the election won’t be certified until Tuesday.

Unofficial results in the U.S. Senate race have Republican Gov. Rick Scott ahead of Nelson by 0.14 percentage points, which will almost certainly send it to another recount that will last through the weekend.

Early Thursday, a federal judge is gave thousands of Florida voters until this weekend to fix their ballots if they haven’t been counted due to mismatched signatures.
