The make-shift big top tent set up in the middle of the parking lot of a Tampa business gives Cirque du Soleil’s 41st production, VOLTA, a vintage look. But once you venture inside, it quickly turns into a high-tech circus full of amazing feats performed by a cast of characters from all over the world.

VOLTA features a number of thrilling disciplines including BMX, parkour, shape diving, roller skating, rope skipping and more.

VOLTA tells a spellbinding story about the freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing your own trail. Inspired in part by the adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of action sports, the show weaves the adrenaline rush of acrobatics into a visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score.

After a 15-year hiatus from Tampa, Cirque du Soleil returned on Valentine’s Day. After this weekend, the show will be moving out of the bay area.

If you are going to check out one of the remaining shows, it’s located under the big top next to the Tampa Bay Greyhound Track, 8300 N Nebraska Ave. Tampa, FL 33604.
