A judge in Tampa is set to hear a case involving Casey Marie Anthony, the Orlando mother acquitted of killing her daughter, Caylee.
Anthony may face a civil court trial over a defamation suit filed by Roy Kronk.
He’s the meter reader who found Caylee’s body in 2008 in the woods near her grandparent’s home in Orange County.
Anthony was acquitted of the murder in 2011, but pointed her finger at Kronk, claiming he had something to do with the little girl’s death.
Kronk filed a lawsuit, but it has been held up in bankruptcy court for years as a judge decides what to do with Anthony’s debts.
On Monday, Kronk’s attorneys plan to ask a Tampa judge to let a jury in Orlando hear the case, according to our NBC affiliate WESH-TV.
Anthony isn’t expected to appear in court.
She reportedly lives in South Florida but has remained reclusive since the 2011 acquittal that made international headlines.
