TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa police said they are still looking for suspects in a shooting at a Tampa bowling alley Sunday night.
Police responded to Pin Chasers on North Armenia Avenue at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday and saw a vehicle fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. A News Channel 8 photojournalist went to the parking lot and noticed several vehicles riddled with bullet holes.
Major Eric DeFelice said the shooting began as a parking lot argument that escalated into a gunfight that lasted a few seconds. Multiple shots were fired and hit three people.
“We are very lucky no one else was struck,” the major said.
DeFelice said one person took shelter in the bowling alley after being injured. Police said they suffered a gunshot wound and their injuries were non-life-threatening. They were taken to an area hospital.
Police said the car dropped off two people at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Both had suffered gunshot wounds and were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Two of those injured were said to be persons of interest in the crime. The third victim was identified as an innocent bystander.
“These senseless violent crimes will not be tolerated,” DeFelice said.
Police found a firearm in the vehicle and another gun with one of the occupants.
Police made one arrest in connection with the shooting on Monday. They said Cedrick Deshawn Durham Jr., 21, is facing charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of discharging a firearm in public.
More arrests are expected, according to DeFelice.
