A boat fell off a trailer on I-4 in Plant City Saturday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol says a 44-year-old Miami man was towing a 24-foot boat west on the interstate near Branch Forbes Road around 6:45 a.m. when he lost control.

An FHP crash report says he was going too fast, causing the boat trailer to fishtail. The report says the pickup truck and trailer then jackknifed and the trailer separated from the truck.

The boat then came off the trailer and landed on the shoulder of the interstate.

An FHP spokesman says the incident shut down the outside westbound lane in the area for two hours.

No one was injured in the crash. The driver was ticketed for going too fast for conditions.
