The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office seized more than $1 million dollars worth of marijuana from a home in Valrico on Wednesday, authorities said.
A judge issued a search warrant to authorize law enforcement officers to search a home on Kyle Court. Inside the home, authorities found two rooms which were converted for the sole purpose of cultivating marijuana. Deputies seized 41 mature marijuana plants, weighing a total of 522 pounds with an estimated street value of $1,044,000.
Tampa Electric arrived and disconnected an illegal supply connection that was providing un-metered electricity to the house. $7,713.57 worth of electricity was reportedly stolen, according to the sheriff’s office.
The resident, 49-year-old Victor Perez Madrigal was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Trafficking in Marijuana (25 to 2000 pounds), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance, Grand Theft Third Degree, and Maintain a Place for Drug Use, authorities said.
He’s being held at the Orient Road Jail without bond.
