It’s been one year since the arrest of accused Seminole Heights serial killer, Howell Donaldson III.
On Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, a 51-day manhunt came to an end when police arrested the suspect in the string of four murders in the Seminole Heights neighborhood.
Tampa police arrested 24-year-old Howell Emanuel Donaldson III at the McDonald’s in Ybor City. The arrest came after Donaldson asked a McDonald’s manager to hold a bag for him while he ran an errand. The manager looked inside the bag and saw a loaded gun. The manager then called police.
After searching Donaldson’s car and finding clothes with bloodstains on them, Donaldson was arrested. He is charged with the murders of Benjamin Mitchell, Monica Hoffa, Anthony Naiboa and Ronald Felton.
Donaldson has pleaded not guilty.
Over the last year, documents have been released to the media and in court revealing information about Donaldson’s family life, college, pictures that show a gun he claims to have purchased, and interviews with police.
Donaldson has been through a series of competency tests and remains jailed on the murder charges.
