TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A construction worker was killed in Tampa early Friday morning after a piece of a concrete slab fell on him, deputies said.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said around 6:42 a.m., deputies were called for an accident at terminal six of Port Tampa Bay.
The crews were replacing the seawall and moving a concrete slab when a part of it, weighed at around 3,000 pounds (1.5 Tons), broke off and crushed a 27-year-old man.
The worker was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died.
OSHA is investigating the incident.
