The man accused of gunning down five people in a SunTrust bank in Sebring was arrested Wednesday wearing a T-shirt with four Grim Reapers printed on it.
Each Grim Reaper could be seen on a horse, which appears to depict the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse; figures that represent the end of the world in the Bible.
Zephen Xaver, 21, is accused of opening fire inside the SunTrust bank on US 27 Wednesday and killing the five victims.
All of the victims were women. Four of the victims worked at the bank and the fifth victim was a customer. One of the slain bank workers was just hired weeks ago and is the mother of two small children, according to NBC News.
Investigators said Xaver called 911 around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and reported that he had fired shots inside the bank.
The phone call resulted in a massive police response; local roads were closed while a SWAT team responded.
The SWAT team used a large truck to ram through the front doors of the bank where Xaver eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
A judge refused to grant bond during Xaver’s first appearance Thursday morning.
Xaver kept his head down most of the time and responded to the judge’s questions.
He’s facing five counts of first degree capital murder, which is the most serious felony allowing the death penalty to become an option.
