Man grabs, beats woman in road rage incident

On Saturday afternoon, Lake Placid Police responded to the area of U.S. HWY 27 N. and Dal Hall Blvd after a victim was assaulted in her car.

The victim was injured from being struck by 51-year-old Stanley Shuler.

According to police, the victim said Shuler was enraged at her driving patterns and pulled up behind her car at the traffic light. Shuler exited his car and approached the victim screaming and cursing at her.

The victim rolled down her window to speak with Shuler, and that’s when he reached inside and attempted to pull her from the vehicle.

At the same time, he began striking her while she sat in her vehicle.

In an attempt to escape, the victim drove forward hitting a vehicle before being able to leave the area and call the police.

Police said witnesses of the incident provided statements and photographic evidence.

Shuler evaded law enforcement until Sunday morning when he was taken into custody and delivered to the Highlands Co jail.
