SEBRING, Fla. (WFLA) – A high-speed, multi-county pursuit led to two crashes in Hardee County on Tuesday, ending with a deputy suffering minor injuries.
According to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Jaqwan Hall of Avon Park was driving a 2021 Dodge Charger linked to a Monday afternoon shooting in Sebring. Hall was spotted in the area of Sparta Road and State Road 66 around 9 a.m. Tuesday, leading to a pursuit on SR 66 that entered Hardee County.
During the pursuit, deputies say Hall’s vehicle spun out and ended up driving back the way he came, which is when the Charger rammed a Highlands County Sheriff’s Office patrol SUV head-on.
Following the collision, Hall continued to flee, heading east toward Highlands County before again turning around and heading west, weaving in and out of traffic, according to investigators.
Deputies decided to utilize a PIT maneuver to force Hall off the road, where his Charger rolled over before coming to rest around a mile west of Skipper Road.
Hall, along with passengers 24-year-old Giovanni Alexis Quinones and 25-year-old Jawueeon Trazion-Antoine Culbreth, were taken into custody following the crash.
Hall and Quinones were taken to a hospital in Hardee County to be treated for injuries, while the deputy involved in the head-on collision was treated for minor injuries at a Highlands County hospital.
Investigators said Hall is facing multiple charges related to the pursuit but did not clarify which charges.
