(WFLA/CNN Newsource) – Google+ will be shut down following the discovery of bugs that caused privacy concerns.
The company said in a blog post that 52.5 million people were affected by a bug in a November software update to the social network.
The bug exposed customers’ private information to software developers for six days, but said they haven’t found evidence of any misuse.
A similar bug was disclosed in October.
Google said it has since fixed the issues, but still plans to shut down the social network ahead of schedule in April 2019.
They say there’s low usage for Google+ and challenges with “maintaining a successful product.”
