Goodwill catering service dishes up food, helps people develop skills

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa Bay catering company is providing jobs for people across Tampa Bay, and now major corporate partners are ordering up food for a good cause.

“Good to Go” is a catering service run by Goodwill Suncoast Industries. Good to Go has served up 600 pounds of turkey across the bay to families and corporations.

“We do a lot of big corporation,  we could serve up to 450  to 700 meals at one location, so our numbers grow every day,” said Lisa Simpson, who heads up Good to Go at Goodwill.

Good to Go trains women in work release programs and helps adults with disabilities develop life skills.

While Thanksgiving catering is hugely popular this time of year, Good to Go runs its catering service year round with major clients that support the cause by using the service,  including Tampa’s Laser Spine Institute, Val Pak, Pinellas County Schools and Wells Fargo.

There is also a cafeteria at the Goodwill located at 10596 Gandy Boulevard in St. Petersburg, open to the public that serves food at a deeply discounted price.Learn more about Good to Go catering here.
