Gluten free food not always free

Restaurants labeling foods as gluten-free on menus might be stretching the truth.

A new study in the American Journal of Gastroenterology found that 32 percent of meals labeled “gluten-free” actually contain gluten.

Pizza and pasta were the worst offenders, gluten was found in more than half the samples. Researchers believe the issue is likely caused by cross contamination.
