SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A 3-year-old girl was pronounced dead at a hospital after she was found at the bottom of a pool in Sarasota Friday morning.
It happened at a home in the 3200 block of Henrietta Place around 10 a.m. Friday. Sarasota County deputies responded to the home for reports of a drowning. They found the 3-year-old girl at the bottom of the pool. Paramedics took her to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as Haily G. Nito-Hernandez.
At the time of the incident, three children under 6 years old, including the victim, were supervised by their 16-year-old cousin, according to SCSO. Deputies believe the drowning was accidental.
They continue to investigate.
