TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — If you are headed to downtown Tampa for Gasparilla this weekend, you might wonder where you should park.
Traffic will be heavy in and around Tampa due to the parade, so you’ll want to arrive early.
According to the city of Tampa, several downtown garages will charge $20 for parking. Garages that are farther from the parade route will charge their standard rate.
Here’s when and where you can park for the parade:
Pam Iorio Parking Garage (South Florida Avenue & Channelside Drive)
- 8 a.m. – Limited spaces
Tampa Convention Center Garage (Tampa Street & Brorein Street)
- Open 24/7
Fort Brooke Garage (Whiting Street between Franklin Street & Florida Avenue)
- Open from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Whiting St. Garage (North Morgan Street)
- Open from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Selmon Expressway Downtown parking lots
- Open from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Royal Regional Lot (Tampa Street & Fortune Street)
- Open 24/7
Scott Street Lot (Morgan Street & Scott Street)
- Open 24/7
Poe Garage (North Ashley Drive & West Cass Street)
- Open 24/7 – Due to the parade route, this garage will close from 1–6 p.m. No entry or exit will be allowed during this time.
Twiggs Street Garage (Twiggs Street, west of Nebraska Avenue)
- Open 24/7, Standard hourly rate with a $12 maximum
Centro Ybor Garage (5th Avenue & 15th Street)
- Open 24/7, Standard hourly rate with a $12 maximum
Palm Avenue Garage (13th Street & 9th Avenue)
- Open 24/7, Standard hourly rate with a $12.00 maximum
On-street parking meters will be enforced from 8 a.m. until midnight
If you park at the Centro Ybor Garage or the Palm Avenue Garage you can take the free TECO Line Streetcar to the parade route starting at 8:30 a.m. The streetcar will stop servicing riders at 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The free HART bus shuttle service will also be available for service between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
