Winter Haven, FL (WFLA) – A water main break put a damper on the fun at the Legoland Florida resort Monday afternoon, but staff tried to make sure all guests walked away happy. Around 3 p.m. Monday, the resort lost water due to a rupture in the line by nearby construction workers, according to Legoland General Manager Adrian Jones. “We couldn’t provide clean water to guests in our restroom areas or the restaurant so it was obvious we had to close down,” Jones said.
However, Legoland offered everyone impacted free ice-cream, bottled water and a ticket to be used within 12 months.”That was important,” Jones said Tuesday. “It wasn’t their fault and frankly it wasn’t ours either.” Water was restored about 7:30 pm Monday evening. Those staying in the Legoland hotel were treated to free dinner and a showing of the Lego movie while restoration work was underway. Legoland was back to regular operations Tuesday, opening at 9:30 for annual pass-holders and 10 am for general admission guests.
