A domestic violence situation led to a deputy-involved shooting and chase in Brevard County early Thursday.
Brevard Sheriff Wayne Ivey said the suspect accelerated a car at a deputy while they were responding to a domestic violence call a little before 5 a.m.
Deputies said they responded three times to a woman’s 911 calls. She told authorities the suspect, her ex-boyfriend, was at her house and she was afraid for her life.
Authorities were not able to locate the suspect the first two times they responded to the home, but on the third time the man drove toward a deputy.
As the suspect accelerated toward the deputy, the deputy opened fire and struck the suspect.
A chase ensued and deputies eventually used a PIT maneuver to get the suspect’s vehicle off the road on S.R. 528, Ivey said.
