TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the killing of a pregnant Daytona Beach woman nearly eight years ago, First Coast News reported.

Shaquierra Pinckney was found dead in a Putnam County graveyard in Sept. 2015 after being missing for days. She was nude, had been burned and her body was decomposing. Her death was ruled a homicide, authorities said.

The 22-year-old left behind two children and was four months pregnant.

On Tuesday, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office announced 42-year-old Lorenzo Hudson had been indicted on first-degree murder charges in connection with her death.

Investigators suspect Hudson met Pickney on a popular adult website, where she posted photos.

Pickney’s vehicle was found abandoned days later in St. Johns County.

“It’s believed that Hudson had left the vehicle there,” said Sheriff Gator DeLoach. “There is so much more I would like to tell you about this case and about our suspect, but at the end of the day, we want a conviction, so I cannot divulge any information such as motive or any other facts surrounding the case that could potentially compromise its integrity.”

DeLoach said Hudson was serving a five-year sentence for burglary and grand theft charges dating back to 2015. He was expected to be released in December.

He now faces charges of capital felony murder, capital felony murder of an unborn child, second-degree felony abuse of a dead body and third-degree tampering with physical evidence.
