PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Police are on scene of a shooting at a VA Medical Center in Riviera Beach Wednesday evening.
According to WPTV, sources said a doctor was shot inside the emergency room.
WPTV reports sources told the station a double amputee using a wheelchair shot a doctor inside the emergency room.
The doctor was taken to an area hospital as a trauma alert, but WPTV reports the doctor is in stable condition.
The suspect was detained and the gun was located.
VA police as well as Riviera Beach police are responding.
The area is secure and there is no danger to the public or anyone in the hospital, according to the VA Medical Director.
