TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Over 280,000 Floridians are without power after Nicole made landfall as a hurricane early Thursday morning.

According to PowerOutage.us, a site that aggregates outages from utility companies across the state, just over 280,000 customers are without power across Florida.

Outages were mostly concentrated along Florida’s east coast on Thursday morning, but have since extended hundreds of miles north of where the storm made landfall and west into central Florida.

Tampa Bay area counties are beginning to see power restored now that Nicole has moved through and utility crews can work safely.

Citrus County

173 are without power in Citrus County, accounting for approximately 0.1% of customers.
