AVE MARIA, Fla. (WFLA) — A pair of Floridians had a dangerously close encounter with an alligator early this month.
According to Storyful, homeowner Denise Prues first spotted the alligator after hearing something rustling near her house.
“I heard a noise in the side yard and looked up and the alligator was slowly walking between the houses. I was on my phone so quickly switched over to video,” she said.
In the video, Prues is heard saying “oh my God!” as the alligator walks between her and her neighbor’s house.
However, as it gets closer to a sidewalk path, the alligator speeds up after spotting two people driving by on a golf cart.
The gator got close to the two people with its open jaws, but the residents managed to swerve off the path to safety.
After missing its chance at getting a meal on wheels, the alligator then goes back to peacefully walking to a nearby pond.
