WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPTV/CNN) – A Florida hospital is bringing smiles to young patients as they prepare to go into surgery.

Riding in a Mercedez with a passenger on board, little Christopher had no problem stepping into the operating room.

“It turns out that one of the most stressful parts of surgery for kids is the actual process of leaving the parents and the family, and going to the operating room,” said Dr. Jiovani Visaya of the West Boca Medical Center.

The doctor said the hospital bought two motorized cars to help ease the fears of their young patients.

“And anything fun like this, they might even look forward to the time when they have to go back and have their surgery,” Visaya added.

Andre Valdez’ mother says he was shaking when he had to go into surgery because he was so nervous. But minutes before his procedure, you couldn’t tell.

He had a simple ride, as a remote control helps keeps the kids on track.

“I totally recommend it. They make you feel commutable with the kids,” said Caldia Valdez.
