A hickey on a girl’s neck ended up giving detectives the evidence they needed to put a man behind bars on Valentine’s Day, the Palm Beach Post reported.
Police arrested 28-year-old Terrence Wilkins Thursday on charges of lewd or lascivious battery on a 13-year-old girl.
According to an affidavit, Wilkins is accused of is accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl inside a bathroom at a park in Boyton Beach.
The girl told police she had gone to the park to smoke marijuana, which caused her to feel sick. Wilkins allegedly saw the girl stumbling down the street and brought her to the park bathroom where he assaulted her.
A DNA sample collected from a hickey on her neck linked Wilkins to the crime, police said. The girl was also shown a photo lineup and identified Wilkins as the perpetrator.
On Thursday, U.S. Marshals and police arrested Wilkins at a home in Lake Worth.
He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, where he’s being held without bond.
