A Marion County woman is in jail on child neglect charges.
Police officers said they found Lauren Joyce’s daughter crying alone in a hotel room.
Investigators said it happened at the Wood Spring Suites in Ocala.
Other people who stay there called police after seeing Joyce allegedly running around the parking lot and acting strangely.
When officers arrived, they found a baby alone in the room she was staying in.
They said they also found evidence of drug use in the room.
Others at the hotel told WESH 2 News they’re glad that the baby was healthy and is safe.
The Florida Department of Children and Families is handling the child’s welfare.
The child’s mother is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday.
