A Florida family used logs to call for help after Hurricane Michael devastated the Panhandle, ABC News reports.

On Saturday, Amber Gee, 24, of Callaway, Florida, was scanning the online National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) aerial map to check for damage to her grandmother’s property when she noticed the word “H-E-L-P” written out in the yard.

Gee said her grandmother and other relatives evacuated before the storm made landfall and some of them ended up in Youngstown, Florida, which was also badly hit by the storm.

“Luckily enough, my uncle who was staying there and was thinking outside of the box, wrote the word H-E-L-P out,” Gee told ABC News.

“The hurricane has turned everything upside down everywhere,” she added. “Some were more fortunate than others. I’m just happy that everybody is safe and sound and, hopefully, soon we will all get through this together and recover from this storm.”

Gee contacted the Bay County Emergency Management, which sent deputies to the home to rescue the group.

“This is an incredible story of how people are working together,” the agency said on Facebook.
