TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A young Florida bobcat was released back into the wild this week after a deputy rescued it earlier this year.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Lopez found the injured bobcat while on patrol in January.

The bobcat was taken to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital and has since made a full recovery. Deputies didn’t say what kind of injury the bobcat suffered.

“It’s amazing what our deputies come across while out keeping our great residents safe… all in a days work,” the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook back in January.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office said Deputy Lopez joined the South Florida Wildlife Center crew as they released the bobcat back into its natural habitat.

“What a full circle moment,” the sheriff’s office said.
