DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (WFLA/WPTV) – A Florida man is accused of killing a woman after running her over with his van.

It reportedly happened after a fight over money.

Just one day after losing her only sister, Lidia Ambroise said he death makes no sense.

“I have no sister. I only have one sister. She didn’t do anything wrong,” Ambroise said.

Delray Beach police said Elson Silencieux, 39, was doing work on the home where Marie Ambroise, 59, lived with one of her daughters.

Police said Silencieux was fighting with Ambroise about money.

Family said he might have been asking for more money, but it’s unclear what led to the tension.

Police said Silencieux eventually got in his van and ended up running over Ambroise and her daughter while driving away, killing Ambroise.

Family believes the daughter was hit trying to get the plate number.

Police in Boynton Beach found Silencieux’s car parked and empty. He was eventually detained nearby.

He is facing charges of aggravated battery, homicide and hit-and-run.
