PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WFLA) — A 4-year-old girl was found dead after wandering off from a vacation home in southwest Florida.
On Friday morning, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office shared a Facebook post stating that 4-year-old Evelyn K. Geer had been missing “for several hours.”
The child’s body was discovered at the water’s edge in the canal behind the family’s VRBO rental home. Deputies found her while searching the water on a boat.
“Please keep the family in your prayers as they go through this unbearable time,” the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
