FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) – Investigators who combed through hundreds of tips following a fatal shooting during a zombie-themed street festival in Florida say one tipster likely has the information to help solve the case.
Police and Crime Stoppers officials are urging the anonymous tipster who called last November to call again Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Expavious Tyrell Taylor, 20, who played football at a Miami junior college, died in the Oct. 17 shooting. Many of those attending ZombiCon in ghoulish costumes smeared with fake blood initially wondered whether the shooting was part of the show.
Crime Stoppers spokeswoman Trish Routte says the tip was received Nov. 11 or 12. She says investigators believe the caller’s information may lead to the shooter.
She says $36,000 in reward money is at stake.
