TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is demanding answers and action from Frontier Communications.
Frontier Communications took over Verizon’s Fios and landline services on April 1 and customers began reporting problems the same day.
In a strongly worded letter to the CEO of Frontier, Bondi says the transition from Verizon to Frontier has “hardly been a smooth one”.
Bondi informs Daniel McCarthy that since the transfer of services, her office has “received a steady influx of complaints” on a multitude of service issues.READ Attorney General Pam Bondi’s letter to Frontier here
“We have also received several complaints from seniors who have lost essential 911 services as the result of disruptions in land line services. This is not acceptable,” Bondi says in her letter to McCarthy.
She also informs the CEO that video customers have complained of lost access to certain channels and pre-paid video on demand programming previously available to them from Verizon.
Bondi goes on to say, “this is an unacceptable situation with no apparent end in sight,”
Bondi is demanding that Frontier set up direct contact customer service numbers for Frontier that are based in Florida.
Bondi says many is using overseas customer call centers that present language barriers and wait times as much as two hours to speak to a representative.
The State Attorney General then demands Frontier set up a meeting with the Consumer Protection Division Director by close of business on Wednesday to find out the extent of Frontier’s servicing issues in Florida and the intended fixes.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON RIGHT NOW:
