A flawless pair of pear-shaped diamond earrings is to be auctioned in Switzerland. The earrings are expected to fetch up to $30 million.
The newly created set of drop earrings went on display in Geneva Thursday. The “flawless quality” diamonds, resembling teardrops, weigh about 52 and a half and 50 and a half carats.
They will be offered without a minimum price, something very rare in the auction world for jewels of such importance.
The set will form part of the Christie’s Magnificent Jewels Tuesday, Nov. 15.
The auction also includes a pink pear-shaped diamond ring weighing more than nine carats. The ring is expected to fetch $18 million.
