A Michigan girl who died after being struck by a vehicle in Grand Rapids Tuesday has been identified.

The girl’s mother told WOOD-TV that Nevaeh Alston was hit on Bridge Street when she tried crossing the road to feed the homeless at a park.

The crash happened in front of a condo complex.  She was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

Nevaeh was rushed to a hospital where she died from her injuries.

The Grand Rapids Police Department said neither alcohol or speed appeared to be factors in the crash.

A GoFundMe page has been started to help the family cover funeral costs.
