Fallon dons silver hair to mock Lochte at MTV Video Music Awards

NEW YORK (MEDIA GENERAL) – Between the ritzy venue, the glitzy attire and the over-the-top performances, Jimmy Fallon was able to capture a quick viral moment mocking U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte at Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Lochte, in hot water over falsely reporting an armed robbery while in Brazil for the 2016 Olympic Games, has lingered in the limelight as fodder for comedians.

“The Tonight Show” host, at the VMAs to present the award for Video of the Year, came on stage sporting a Nike track suit, a fake silver medal and Lochte’s now infamous silver hair style. Fallon’s Lochte took his lies one step further, claiming he wrote Justin Bieber’s hit song “Sorry,” and that he taught Drake how to do the “Hotline Bling” dance.

Fallon got the biggest “oh-no-he-didn’t” laugh when claiming all the nominees were so great, he couldn’t give you his personal favorite — “even if there was a gun to my head.”

Lochte is choosing to stay in the spotlight. He reportedly is set to join the 23rd season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.” The entire cast is expected to be announced Tuesday.
