MELBOURNE BEACH, FL (WFLA) – At least two winners bought their lucky tickets in different Florida towns. The winner who purchased the ticket at Melbourne Beach Publix, has not been identified yet.

“I’m getting phone calls from friends, emails,” said customer June Stoff. Even though Melbourne Beach Publix wouldn’t allow media inside, customers insist all the talk is about the big win.

“They’re excited! Oh are they excited!” said Doris Laplume, a customer.

“Exciting day, interesting day,” said Publix Spokesman Dwaine Stevens.

Everyone wants to know who won, and some are buying more tickets.

Doris Laplume lamented, “I got only one – the Powerball number. That’s it.”

She and many others are double checking and even buying more Lotto tickets. Many residents don’t believe the winner would move from the area because it’s a nice town made up mostly, of the beach. The Florida Lottery reports that Publix will receive $100,000 dollars for selling the winning ticket.

The man who got his ticket at the store in Lake Mary, is Frederick Walker, 19, of Sanford. He claimed his $2 million prize. This was his first time ever to play the lottery and he was very excited to win, according to Florida Lottery.
