PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — A motorcyclist has died and a driver has been charged with manslaughter following a crash involving a motorcycle and two other vehicles.
It happened around 4:40 pm on Sunday.
Pinellas Park authorities say Anthony Davis, the suspect and Lawrence Wagner, the victim were stopped at a red light on Gandy Blvd. and Grand Ave.
Davis wanted to make a u-turn on Gandy Blvd, but he wasn’t in the left lane.
When the light turned green, he recklessly changed lanes and ran a red left turn arrow.
Due to his negligence, he was hit by Wagner’s motorcycle and Wagner was ejected from the vehicle.
Another driver struck Davis on the passenger side.
Wagner sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Bayfront Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The other two motorists involved reported no injuries, but Davis did show signs of impairment when he spoke with officers.
He was taken into custody and booked on DUI charges for manslaughter and personal injury damage to personal property.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON:
