TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — With just 15 days before the election, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made a push in Tampa Monday night.
Initial estimates said 10-thousand people attended the rally. According to a Trump campaign official, “nearly 20-thousand” people attended the hour-long rally in the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
Supporters couldn’t get enough. “It’s great to be back here in Tampa,” Trump told the crowd right after hugging an American flag. “Seventy-five percent of the American people think our country is on the wrong track, according to all of the latest polls, and we are going to fix it.”
He said fixing it involves replacing or repealing the Affordable Care Act.
Trump later talked about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails, including the WikiLeaks releases.
He also said he would renegotiate NAFTA or create an entirely new deal to keep jobs here in America.
“If we win on November 8, we are going to Washington, DC. and we are going to drain the swamp,” Trump said to a thunderous applause.
Trump’s stop came as he’s trailing in the polls. National polling averages show Clinton with a 5.5 percent lead over Trump, according to RealClearPolitics.com. In Florida, Clinton has a 3.8 percent lead in the polling average.
Supporters believe Trump will make America great again. “I think he’s for the American people, not just a group but everybody,” Nancy Harvey said.
Nancy Dodson, of Clearwater, talked to News Channel 8. “He cares and he’s genuine and that he’s not a typical politician,” Dodson said.
Trump is hosting rallies Tuesday in Sanford and Tallahassee.
Hillary Clinton will rally in Tampa on Wednesday.RELATED-
