BALTIMORE, Md. (WFLA/WBAL) – A dog has been reunited with his family after disappearing from his New York home 18 months ago and ending up more than 1,000 miles away.

Sinatra, the beloved husky, somehow ended up in Florida… an estimate distance of 1,300 miles!

Sinatra’s family had been hoping to be reunited with their dog one day.

The Willis’ say he was a birthday gift for their 16-year-ikd daughter who died in a gun accident three years ago.

The Florida family found the husky and used social media to research Sinatra’s rightful owners.

The Florida family tag-teamed with a Willis family friend in Maryland and handed Sinatra off to them.
From Maryland, his journey finally came to an end back home.

Sinatra’s owners were thrilled how healthy he appeared.

“If the mailman came, he would sneak out or if we got a delivery, he would sneak out. He was known in the neighborhood for going outside and one day, he just did. It was just one of those things,” said Lesmoore Willis.

Sinatra’s owners joked that he must’ve spent some of his time away at a spa, because his coat was shiny and he appeared to be very well rested.
