MULBERRY, FL (WFLA) — Polk County Sheriff’s deputies have made an arrest in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian Thursday morning.

The sheriff’s office has not released the name of the person who was arrested.

Deputies say they were notified of a man lying in the road at Highway 60 West and County Line Road in Mulberry Thursday morning around 5:26 a.m. At that time, they learned the victim had been struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.

The victim, who has not been named, has been transported to Lakeland Regional Health and is listed in critical condition.
