OKLAHOMA (WFLA) — Clemma and Sterling Elmore have been married 57 years, but all you see is a lifetime of beautiful love and devotion in these captivating photos.
The darling Oklahoma couple captured their lifelong love story on September 2. The photo shoot was inspired by the 2004 movie “The Notebook” starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.
The comparative look was completed with retro clothing, handwritten love notes to one another, and a little help from incredibly creative photographer Stacy Welch-Christ of Mary Evelyn Photography.
“How can you explain the love? It’s something so precious…” Clemma Elmore said about her life with husband Sterling Elmore.
Clemma said it was by the grace of god that the two met, but she said marriage isn’t always so easy.
This couple, unfortunately, endured some great travesties in their life together. They lost their grandson and Clemma survived colon cancer.
She said the movie reflected their lives in certain ways, like the way Noah took care of Allie when she had Altimeters.
“The love [Noah] showed [Allie] even though she didn’t know him.. to me, it was just us,” Clemma said.
Amber Elmore-Christ, who is the couple’s grand-daughter and the photographer’s sister-in-law, convinced her Nanaw and Papaw to do the photo shoot even though they were a bit nervous.
Clemma said the shoot meant more and more to her as the days pass by. She said the feedback is inspiring.
“The comments are so sweet and they have just humbled us,” Clemma said.
Photographer Welch-Christ captured some incredible moments, which she plans to turn into a photobook called “The Notebook.” You can see more of the Elmore love story here.
